DIGESTIVE CLEANSER & NOURISHER (30g)
A powerful whole body tonic, this ancient Ayurvedic 3 fruit combination is traditionally used predominantly to cleanse, tone and rejuvenate the digestive tract, allowing optimum absorption of nutrients and other herbs. Although the 3 herbs work synergistically, Haritaki in particular is known for its “scraping” effect, which removes toxins and helps maintain healthy weight balance, Amla for it’s high vitamin C and quercetin content and nourishing effect on cells (evident in skin and hair health). Bibhitaki helps maintain fluid balance in the body, and cleanses and tones the colon.
The 3 fruits in combination are what is known as “tridoshic”, meaning they are balancing to all 3 doshas (energies derived from the elements) in the body.
The blend is known to enhance digestive enzymes and assist the body with normal elimination and internal cleansing, acting as a mild laxative. Triphala has the ability to cleanse deep into tissues, blood, muscle and fat stores and works to detoxify the liver. A natural, potent antioxidant, it has a cleansing, reparative and nourishing effect on all body tissues. It also moisturises and nourishes the skin, and is known to improve glow and luster of complexion. It supports respiratory and eye health, is anti-microbial, anti-aging and anti-inflammatory.
Triphala is also known to cleanse macro and micro circulatory-channels (shrotas) and can enhance mental clarity and memory.
Due to its mild laxative effect, begin with half a teaspoon and increase if necessary.
